Mykie’s Cafe on Lily
About This Spot
Mykie’s Cafe on Lily is the kind of neighborhood café where the pace slows just a little, inviting you to settle in and savor the small moments. Nestled on a quiet street corner in Cairns North, this spot greets you with an air of simple warmth—friendly chatter mingling softly with the gentle hum of the coffee machine and the occasional clink of crockery.
As you arrive, there’s a feeling of comfort in the well-kept space, from the inviting display of fresh sandwiches and sweet treats to the cozy deck where you can watch the morning unfold. It’s not a place for rushing, but rather for lingering—whether you’re grabbing a nourishing lunch or lingering over a carefully made coffee, swirled with skill and care.
The menu quietly reflects a balance of wholesome and familiar, offering fresh, handmade sandwiches and comforting dishes that feel like a small act of kindness on a plate. A warm frittata, a vibrant quesadilla with salsa, or a crisp, garden-fresh salad—all made with thoughtful simplicity. Refreshingly, the milkshakes and iced drinks add a playful touch, each sip providing a cool counterpoint to the café’s relaxed atmosphere.
What lingers here is the sense of genuine hospitality—staff who remember your usual, an owner’s welcoming presence, and even a friendly canine companion adding to the local charm. It’s a place where the food is made with evident care, and the moments shared, whether with a book, friends, or just yourself, feel quietly valued.

I stopped here one morning for breakfast and I am glad I did. I entered a well presented store with friendly staff and a cold display cabinet with fresh sandwiches, rolls and cakes etc., there is a warm cabinet with bakery goods. The coffee beans used are good ones and the lady can really swirl créma. I was able to sit on the deck out front. Noticeably, it is not the place to get a quick cup of coffee "on the go" as I feel it to be a place where you must be okay to sit a while...While you do admire the Aussie Iconic Brands sketched on canvas at the wall. Price wise? Slightly higher than I would normally pay but then again it is a quaint cafe in the very leafy Cairns North and Rusty (the Dog) is allowed to wait outside so yeah.

I go to Mykie’s cafe at least once a week to get my work lunch. Their sandwiches are the best! My favourite one is the chicken, cheese and avo toasted. Always so fresh, filling and delicious. And real chicken!

Cute local cafe! Iced coffee & sandwich for 20 bucks so decently priced! Owners & dog are cute & very accommodating.

Have just eaten the most delicious keylime cake in the whole of Cairns. Everything made in house, with absolute love! Freshly made panini, baguettes and sandwiches. Will be back!!

Good food, excellent coffee and yes, they also have wheelchair access (the ramp is on the corner). You also receive friendly service from local people.

Just popped in for a coffee but decided to have breakfast also. Friendly operators. I ordered eggs benny with some extras and it was delicious. The bacon was particularly yummy. Also had an almond latte. Also excellent. If I’d make a suggestion it would be to give an alternate toast choice as I found the toasted ciabatta too light and didn’t match the other ingredients in tne plate.
